Yes, Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, Mary. She was betrothed to Joseph
at the time, but the scriptures say that he never physically joined
with her until
after the birth of Christ, her firstborn. "Then Joseph being raised
from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and
took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had
brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS." (Matthew 1:24-25).
Therefore, Joseph was the stepfather of Jesus
Christ, not his father. Mary was, however, the mother of at
least six other children. Joseph was most likely the father of all
Jesus' half brothers and sisters. This is evident in the following
scriptures and lack of divorce at the time.
"Is not this the
carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren,
James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all
with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?" (Matthew
13:55-56)
Yes, Jesus Christ did have siblings. He grew up in a home full of
children and saw all that went on in that home. This in no way takes
from the fact that He is God. It does, however, give us a better
understanding of His humanity. Jesus Christ is still as it says. "The
next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the
Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (John 1:29).
