Matthew 26:17-30
Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples
came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for
thee to eat the passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a
man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will
keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples
did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they
did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of
them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? And he answered and said, He
that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray
me. The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that
man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that
man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him,
answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast
said. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it,
and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat;
this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it
to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I
say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine,
until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of
Olives.
Mark 14:22-24
And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it,
and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took
the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and
they all drank of it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the
new testament, which is shed for many.
Luke 13:26
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence,
and thou hast taught in our streets.
Luke 22:19-20
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto
them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in
remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This
cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
John 6:35
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to
me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never
thirst.
John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of
this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:53-57
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye
eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no
life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath
eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh
is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my
flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the
living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that
eateth me, even he shall live by me.
John 13:1-4
Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour
was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father,
having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the
end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart
of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; Jesus knowing that
the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come
from God, and went to God; He riseth from supper, and laid aside his
garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
Acts 2:42
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:46-47
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and
breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness
and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all
the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be
saved.
Acts 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came
together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on
the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
1 Corinthians 10:16-17
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the
blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion
of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one
body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
1 Corinthians 10:21-22
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye
cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
1 Corinthians 11:20-34
When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat
the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his
own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. What? have ye
not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God,
and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I
praise you in this? I praise you not. For I have received of the
Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the
same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had
given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body,
which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the
same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This
cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink
it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and
drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore
whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord,
unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But
let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and
drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily,
eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's
body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many
sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But
when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not
be condemned with the world. Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come
together to eat, tarry one for another. And if any man hunger, let
him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And
the rest will I set in order when I come.
