If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the
stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed
therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

will surely hear their cry; And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword;
and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless. If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou
shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him
usury. If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt
deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down: For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin:
wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth
unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious. Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy
people. Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and
of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me. Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven
days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it
me. And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh
that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
Exodous 23:1-9
Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand
with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou
speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment: Neither shalt thou countenance a poor man in his cause. If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt
surely bring it back to him again. If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his
burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help
with him. Thou shalt not wrest the judgment of thy poor in his cause. Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous
slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked. And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and
perverteth the words of the righteous. Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a
stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Joshua 23:6-8
Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all
that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not
aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left; That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you;
neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear

one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be
fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom
of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be
called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case
enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt
not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the
judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever
shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council:
but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there
rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be
reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way
with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge,
and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into
prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence,
till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt
not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust
after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should
perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from
thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should
perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him
give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife,
saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery:
and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time,
Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord
thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it
is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem;
for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make
one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever
is more than these cometh of evil. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a
tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat,
let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of
thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you,
do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully
use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and
sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not
even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others?
do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven
is perfect.
Matthew 6:1-7
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be
seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in
heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the
streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy
right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in
secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners
of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou
hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy
Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for
they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Matthew 6:19-34
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where
moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and
steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth
nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor
steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be

shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they
reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his
stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was
not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day
is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more
clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What
shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your
heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall
take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is
the evil thereof.

believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the
word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe,
and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have
heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures
of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good
heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with
patience. No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel,
or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that
they which enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither
any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke 11:23

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a
secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that
they which come in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is
single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is
evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not
darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part
dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining

or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy
kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and
a recompence be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the
lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for
thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall
never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a
well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst
not, neither come hither to draw. Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto
her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not
thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a
prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in
Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye
shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the
Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for
salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall
worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh
such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is
called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked
with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest
thou with her? The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city,
and saith to the men, Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not
this the Christ? Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought
him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent
me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?
behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields;
for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto
life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may
rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men
laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the
saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I
did. So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that
he would tarry with them: and he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy
saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is
indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the
law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the
law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress
the law? For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that
circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that
of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is
not of men, but of God.
Romans 6:4

mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil;
cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in
honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in
prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but
condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the
sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with
all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto
wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the
Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him
drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 13:1-10
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For
there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of
God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance
of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt

due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom
honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth
another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill,
Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt
not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly
comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the
fulfilling of the law.
Romans 13:13-14
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and
envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for
the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

question for conscience sake. But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto

for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my
liberty judged of another man's conscience? For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that
for which I give thanks? Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all
to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor
to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own
profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
1 Corinthians 13:1-13
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of
angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a
tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all
mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I
could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I
give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me
nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity
vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not
easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things,
endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall

knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in
part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish
things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the
greatest of these is charity.

2 Corinthians 3:1-3

2 Corinthians 4:1-3
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy,
we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty,
not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;
but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every
man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it
is hid to them that are lost:
2 Corinthians 4:6-11
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath
shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the
glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure
in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God,
and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we
are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken;
cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the
dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto
death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made
manifest in our mortal flesh.
2 Corinthians 6:1-10
We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye
receive not the grace of God in vain. (For he saith, I have heard
thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I
succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the
day of salvation.) Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry
be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the
ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities,

the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of

live; as chastened, and not killed; As sorrowful, yet alway
rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet
possessing all things.

with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us
the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. And this they did,
not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and
unto us by the will of God. Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as
he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and
knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye
abound in this grace also. I speak not by commandment, but by
occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of
your love. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that,
though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye
through his poverty might be rich.
2 Corinthians 9:5-15
Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they
would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty,
whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a
matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness. But this I say, He
which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which
soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according
as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of
necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make
all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency
in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He
hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness
remaineth for ever. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both
minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and
increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every
thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to
God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the
want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto
God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God
for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for
your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; And by their
prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God
in you. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

2 Corinthians 12:14-21
Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be
burdensome to you: for I seek not yours but you: for the children

the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. But be it so, I

I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a
gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the
same steps? Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we
speak before God in Christ: but we do all things, dearly beloved,
for your edifying. For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find
you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye
would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes,
backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults: And lest, when I come
again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many
which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness
and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.
2 Corinthians 13:5-12
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own
selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in
you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we
are not reprobates. Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that
we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is
honest, though we be as reprobates. For we can do nothing against
the truth, but for the truth. For we are glad, when we are weak, and
ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I
should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath
given me to edification, and not to destruction. Finally, brethren,
farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in
peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Greet one
another with an holy kiss.
Galatians 4:17-19
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude
you, that ye might affect them. But it is good to be zealously
affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not
liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I
say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of
the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit

that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the
Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are
manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have
also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's
have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be
desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Ephesians 4:25-28
Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his

the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him
labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may
have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication
proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of

Ephesians 5:1-5
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in

offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. But
fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be
once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head
of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the
church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own
husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ
also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Ephesians 5:28-33
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth
his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh;
but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For
we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this
cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined
unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great
mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless
let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself;

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour
thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but
bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Servants,
be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh,
with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto
Christ; Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of
Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing
service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Knowing that whatsoever
good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord,
whether he be bond or free. And, ye masters, do the same things unto
them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in
heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Finally, my
brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put
on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of
the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Philippians 2:15
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without

1 Thessalonians 5:2-8

2 Thessalonians 3:6-9

that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh
disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For
yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not
ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread
for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that
we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not
power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
2 Thessalonians 3:11-15

his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his
way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso
looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he
being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall
be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious,
and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's
religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the
Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their
affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James 2:8

James 2:14-26
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith,
and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be
naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them,
Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give
them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it
profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy
faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils
also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that
faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by
works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou
how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made
perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham
believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he
was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is
justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the
harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and
had sent them out another way? For as the body without the spirit is
dead, so faith without works is dead also.
James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of
the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend
of the world is the enemy of God.
James 4:10-12
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you
up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil
of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law,
and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer
of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save
and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him
it is sin.
1 Peter 2:1-3
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies,
and envies, all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted
that the Lord is gracious.

watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any

ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as
Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And
wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his
brother's righteous.
1 John 3:15-19
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no
murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the
love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to
lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's
good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of
compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little
children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed
and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall
assure our hearts before him.
1 John 4:7-11
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one
that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not
knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of
God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the
world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we
loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought
also to love one another.

with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right
to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the
city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and
murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
